I did the shots basically on the fly and kinda just experimented because I didn’t have a tripod and we were rushing to see the show because we left dinner late. I shot in “TV” mode with my shutter being open for 2 sec. Since I didn’t have a tripod I put my elbows down on railing and tried my best to stay steady. I am pretty happy with my shots but I know they could have been alot better.I found a tutorial today from Digital Photography School

Aperture 2 gives photographers incredible tools to manage massive libraries, speed through photo edits, make essential image adjustments, and deliver photos online and in print using one simple, integrated workflow.
I really love Aperture. I am currently using version 1.5 and it is pretty amzing for what I use it for. I am a the essence of and amerture photographer and a bit of a Apple geek. I have never used Adobe Lightroom so I don’t know what I am missing. Aperture does everything I need it too and it does it simply and pretty quick (given the machines its working on)So whats new in Aperture 2. Apple boast 100 new features. I have yet to play with it but after reading Apple’s page it seems like it improves on the stuff that I don’t like in 1.5. The interface is redesign and looks much more fluid from the screen shots. It seems to utilize every bit of your screeen real estate which is crucial when working with photographs. The also claim it is much more snappier. I am curious of the bench mark test that will be run and how much quicker it is. Finally the biggest feature many people are praising Apple for adding is the $199 price tag. This makes this very appealing to amature photographers as well as the power users of point and shoot cameras. Once again Apple makes a great program and completely outdoes itself in its second version.

The architecture in Dubai just amazes me. It seems to be the testing ground of grand structures but also a sandbox (no pun intended) for some of the greatest architecture experiments I have seen. The architecture style seems very fluid and free. I really liek that style because it seems to blend into the envioremment instead of being a blight to the surrounding. I am no professional architecture by any means, I mean I barely know what I am talking about but as an average person I am very impressed by the style of architecture Dubai is pursing and I believe other countries need to follow its lead.

What an exciting week for anyone interested in Astronomy and space. Yesterday we had the Shuttle Atlantis land to get out of the way of our attempt to shoot down the arrant spy satellite US-193. Today there are plans to shoot down the satellite using an Anti-Missile Missile. The missile is going to be a kinetic weapon which has no explosives on it. It will slam into the satellite at speeds around 20,000 mph basically cause both the satellite and the missile to just shatter into thousands of pieces. Hopefully they are able to get the shot off today but there are talks of delays because of the high seas near Hawaii. The navy says it has an 11 day window to shoot the satellite and has two more missiles just in case were to miss it the first time. On top of all that there is a lunar eclipse tonight. Hopefully everyone gets a great show tonight with the satellite going down and the lunar eclipse happening. Luckily I just got the piece for my camera to hook it up to a telescope to take pics. If the satellite goes down I want pictures. If I can’t shoot that then yall will have some astrophotography to check out tomorrow.

This is a pretty neat video I found. I have yet to create this yet but I really want to. It just isn’t practical for me to carry a regular tripod around everyday. I think this would be a great tool to have because you can just toss it in your camera bag and carry it around without even thinking about it. If anyone has made one of these tell me how you like it and send me some shots. When I actually get a chance to construct one of these I will post it and some pics.

Yea its for a movie but really is this what Japan really needs. Do you want a monster, even if its holographic, to be roaming around in Tokyo. This is the tip of the iceberg folks. Next will be a Robot for a movie promo that might go haywire (like the mechanical Michael Jackson roaming the Nevada desert, bad idea). Then they will make a real Godzilla for the next movie. It will escape and cause havoc. When that happens remember who told you first that they can only blame themselves. This is proof that the Japanese are only asking for it./sarcasm.

This game looks pretty awesome. Like Giz said you get to play something very reminiscent of guitar hero, but instead of getting just a high score you can learn how to play a real guitar. The real kicker about this is that it will work on any guitar. You don’t have to go buy a special guitar. You can buy whatever you want, get the old one out of the attic, or even barrow a friends and look to ROCK OUT! From the video it looks like it will be really easy to learn. You can set you difficulty as well as the speed of the song. I think that is great so if there is a part you are stuck on, you can get down on full speed crank it to 50% and nail it then slowly increase the speed. They also claim if you already are a Rock God this will still be fun to test you as well as entertain you. I cannot wait for this to come out it is definitely on my purchase list.

I got the idea for this post from Digital Photo School’s 5 Reasons to Take Your Camera Everywhere in 2008 .

I found there article extremely interesting. I carry a camera wherever I go. I have my DSLR on me about 90% of the time. When that is not on me I carry a tiny Sony Cybershot. If I fail to carry both I normally have my camera phone.

I find when I carry some form of camera the world just opens up to me. How many times have you been out and something happens or you have that great memory you want to capture? I realized once I bought my Sony T-33, which is pocket sized, I took about 10x more pictures. Then I bought the Rebel XT and that is when I feel I really got into photography. In the one year I have had my DSLR I realized I my photography have improved greatly. I have studied photography here and there over the years, but once I had the camera and carried it around daily my skills increased greatly. I have been able to capture great moments from the last year like random events on campus, parties, promotion, and family stuff. It is great when you are able to pull out your camera and catch that once in a lifetime moment.

So I encourage everyone to try and make it a point to carry some form of camera on you at all times. It is a great way to capture those memories and get some breathtaking shots. There is nothing better then a candid shot and a story about you being in the right place at the right time.
