What is eMTeeSpace?

eMTeeSpace is my personal/professional site. The reason it is both is because I don’t see a big difference in my personal life and my professional life because I love what I do and I live to do it. I enjoy doing this work so much it is something I look forward to everyday.

The blog will be primarily the things I like and neat things I find on the web as well as my views on the world and tips about the stuff I see myself as being knowledgeable in. I love finding photography tutorials and putting them up here. It is the type of shots I want to do and maybe we can all learn together and collaborate on what’s good and what’s not. You will also see all kinds of designs I think are groovy and things I want to do. The blog is basically what is going on in my head.

I will also host my portfolio here. Right now it I am hosting the beginnings of my photography portfolio and I should shortly have my design stuff up too.

Finally I want this site to evolve into a nexus of my designs and peoples thoughts. It is a work in progress so stick with me and voice your opinions on what your think

Who I am.

I am Matthew Tyndall and this is eMTeeSpace. eMTeeSpace is my personal space, hence the MT, and it is very full.

I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and I am studying International Studies and History. I currently work as a Resident Advisor here at the University and I am also a Customer Service Specialist at Best Buy. I am learning both Chinese and Japanese and my studies focus on Asian affairs.

My other passion is the web and emerging media. I have always been fascinated by technology every since I got my first Nintendo Entertainment System when I was young and my life has been connected to technology ever since. I remember the first time I got online and that’s when my perspective of the world changed. I have been dabbling in web design and media as long as I can remember. I am always online reading about the newness that’s coming out and trying to learn as much as I can.

Graphic design is another one of my passions. Again I have been messing with design for a long time. First memories of my designs were when I wanted to be a comic book artist as a kid. My fascination with design has evolved with my love of technology and my discovery of digital media design. From there I helped start my high school newspaper and yearbook where I was Design Editor for one year and Editor-in-Chief for the following two years. From there I also fell in love with photography and found that they compliments my graphic design.

As for professional work I have dabbled in many areas that utilize all my skills. I have done freelance web design, graphic design, print media design, blogging, photo shoots, copy writing, built two web startups, and I am trying to get a non-profit organization off the ground.

I see my varying talents in history, sales, technology, and design as creating a unique view of the world and those skills help me in accomplishing my goals of creating new ideas for the new digital age.
